Katherine is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who specializes in children and young adults. She has many years of experience working in the educational system as a school counselor. Katherine understands the importance of children’s mental health and its positive correlation with academic success.
In addition to her work with children, Katherine works with adults and families. She utilizes evidence-based approaches to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Culturally Sensitive, Person-Centered, Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT), Solution Focused Brief (SFBT) and Trauma Focused. Additionally, Katherine specializes in trauma and is certified in EMDR.
When appropriate, Katherine collaborates with Dr. Frehe-Torres and the rest of the team in the practice, in regards to psychological assessment and treatment needs of children and adults.
Katherine is a bilingual (English and Spanish) clinician with a Master’s degree in school counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She is an approved EMDR therapist.
