Dr. Joyce D. Pallens is a Florida Licensed Psychologist who specializes in an evidence-based practice providing psychological services using a variety of treatment approaches, depending on the patient’s needs and strengths. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for the treatment of depression, anxiety, social anxiety and obsessive-compulsive behaviors (OCD). Dr. Pallens completed her doctoral program at the Ponce Health Sciences University, followed by a clinical practice in Massachusetts and completed an integrated behavioral health certification from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Pallens has training and is certified in Exposure and Response Prevention therapy for the treatment of OCD.

She has broad experience working in the primary care setting, community hospitals and private practice. Dr. Pallens works with teens, young adults and adults. She is also very skilled at providing interventions centered in women’s health (fertility, perinatal mood difficulties).

Dr. Pallens provides individual and family psychotherapy in addition to psychological testing for the evaluation of ADHD, Intelligence (IQ), Learning disorders, immigration (hardship) and medical related evaluations (fertility, bariatric, organ transplant).

Dr. Joyce Pallens is bilingual (English and Spanish) and addresses the ethnic, cultural and
linguistic variables in treatment. She highlights the importance of cultural sensitivity and
awareness when working with patients and their families.
